Hello,

I have completed my week of training here in the lovely city of Chicago.  It has been a wonderful week deepening my relationship with the Lord and meeting wonderful people.

It has only been a week but I have seemed to have been stretched a ton already. I wonder what the Lord will do in a year  :)   I am so excited to embark on this journey to another country similar to ours, yet at the same time very much its own culture.  And even though we are of different cultures, I look forward to serving the community and learning about their way of life.  Throughout this week I have been faced with many questions of why am I here and what does this year mean to me.  And as I was reading 1 Peter 4 this morning it had wondefully reaffirming words that told me it is all about one important truth,God sent his one and only son to die for us so that we may have eternal life.  I want to share with you you verses 7-11, because I feel like it summorizes my year of service.  But I also encourage you to read all of 1 Peter 4 because it is a wonderful chapter, and if your more ambitous, read on!  Its a great book!

"The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.  Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.  If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen."

I know this is short, but my time is limited here, so look forward to more updates.  As I leave tomorrow on my plan for London I will miss all of you dearly, but I look forward to sharing with you my experiences.  Know that you are in my prayers and thoughts.

In Christ,
Kari
